For the past couple of weeks students have been working in literature circles using one of Roald Dahl's books. Students have had to become experts on specific vocabulary words as well as the assigned reading for the week. After completing their weekly assignments, students had to complete a role for their literature group. These roles included: Discussion Director, Yacker Tracker, Super Summarizer, Creative Connector, and Quotation Quest. We will be adding Word Wizard and Artful Artist next week.
Once all members of their group finished their work, students met in their groups and held a discussion about the assigned readings. Students asked each other questions and shared their thoughts using evidence from the text.

I really like literature circles because they are a great way to under stand the book and hear what others have to say about your opinions. Being in a discussion group to me was really fun and I enjoyed it very much.
